AASU/Augusta State Softball Postponed To Thursday

SAVANNAH, Ga. (February 8) - The Armstrong Atlantic softball squad will have to wait one more day to open the 2005 Peach Belt Conference season as Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader at Augusta State has been postponed to Thursday.

AASU, 4-0 on the young season after the weekend's action at the Claflin College Tournament, will now play against the Jaguars on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 1:00 p.m. in Augusta.

Freshman Heather Woods fired two no-hitters in the weekend action and the Pirates set a new school record by scoring 28 runs in a 28-0 win over Claflin on Saturday.

After Thursday's doubleheader against the Jaguars, the Pirates open up the home season on Saturday as they host Belmont Abbey at 1:00 p.m. at the Pirate Softball Field.
