Assistant Coach
Marci Turso

Marci Turso begins her second season as the assistant coach of the AASU softball program. Turso joined the Pirate coaching staff after a one-year stint as the head coach at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C.

A four-year standout for Queens College in Charlotte, N.C., Turso graduated from Queens in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. In her time with the Royals, Turso made several All-Tournament teams, was honored as First-Team All-Conference in the CVAC (Carolinas-Virginias Athletic Conference) as a junior and a senior and led the team in in on-base percentage, runs scored and fielding percentage. Her highest honor came as a senior when she was selected to the All-South Atlantic Region Team as a second baseman.

A native of Miami, Fla., Turso comes from a softball family in which her father, Bill, played fastpitch while serving in the United States Air Force and was named “All-World” as a third baseman.

Turso is currently pursuing her Master's of Science in health science and will graduate in May, 2000. She is single and resides in Savannah.
