AASU's Sells Named PBAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. Sophomore pitcher Annie Sells was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's softball Pitcher of the Week for March 22 by conference officials.
Sells compiled a 2-0 record on the week with an 0.00 ERA. She gave up just three hits and walked three batters while striking out 20. Sells fired a one-hit shutout over USC Aiken on Saturday, March 18, defeating the Pacers, 4-0. She then hurled a two-hitter in a 4-1 win over Francis Marion on Sunday, March 19.
The reigning PBAC Freshman of the Year, Sells has helped the Pirates to a 26-1 start this season and a No. 3 national ranking in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 poll. The recognition is the second this year for Sells as the Chattanooga, Tenn., native was also named the PBAC Player of the Week for March 8.
The Lady Pirates travel to PBAC foe Lander University on Thursday, March 23, for their next softball action.
