College Softball: AASU 10-8, Lake Superior State 0-0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 11-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State softball team swept a doubleheader from Lake Superior State, 10-0 and 8-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Pirate Field.

Junior Maria Lopez fired a one-hitter for the Pirates (7-0) in game one and Annie Sells and Crystal McCracken each clubbed grand slam home runs in helping AASU to the victory over the Lakers (4-6). In the second game, Julie King pitched a two-hit shutout and junior second baseman Tesh Wiewel had three hits in the leadoff spot for the Pirates.

AASU returns to action this weekend at the University of North Florida Invitational on Friday, March 3 through Sunday, March 5. Lake Superior State continues its southern swing with a March 2^nd game at Florida Tech.
