No. 11 Lady Pirate Softball Shares Osprey Invitational Championship

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 11-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State softball team finished a perfect 6-0 at the Osprey Invitational softball tournament on the campus of the University of North Florida, earning a co-championship with the host University of North Florida.

Sunday, the Pirates trailed Northwood, 2-1, in the sixth inning but exploded for five runs to take a 6-2 victory. In Saturday's action, the Pirates recorded three shutouts, defeating Saint Leo, 2-0, Valdosta State, 7-0, and Eckerd College, 20-0. Friday, the Pirates had defeated two ranked teams – No. 10 Barry by a 6-4 score and No. 19 Florida Southern by a 2-0 score.

The Pirates are now a perfect 13-0 on the season and have given up just seven runs in 13 games so far this season.

AASU returns to action on Wednesday, March 8, as they host UNC Pembroke in its Peach Belt Athletic Conference opener. Game time is 1 p.m.
