Zach Walker joins the Armstrong Atlantic State baseball coaching staff this season as a volunteer assistant coach.

Walker, who is currently pursuing his Master's of Science in health and kinesiology at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, will serve in a general capacity for coach Roberts' staff.

Collegiately, Walker played right field and pitched for four seasons at New Mexico Highlands University from 1990-95. Walker graduated from New Mexico Highlands with a Bachelor's of Science degree in political science in 1995, and also earned a Bachelor's of Arts in secondary education from the College of Santa Fe.

Prior to joining the Pirates' staff, Walker served as head baseball coach at Montezuma/Cortez HS in Cortez, Colorado in 1997 and 1998. He also served as an associate scout in the Chicago Cubs organization.

Walker is currently single and resides in Statesboro.
