AASU 2007-2008 Men's Basketball Signees


Calvin Wilson
6-5, 210, Junior, Guard/Forward
St. Petersburg College / Lake Wales, Fla.

Led St. Petersburg College Titans to consecutive Florida state tournament berths during his career, including a 21-11 record and a second-place Sun Coast Conference finish this season.

Averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds a game in 2006-07. Cousin is Amare Stoudamire of the Phoenix Suns.

Coach Burkhamer: "Calvin Wilson is a tremendous athlete that is comfortable playing with his back to the basket or faced up at 18 feet. Calvin runs the floor, is a great leaper and a tremendous rebounder. We feel Calvin will cause some matchup problems for our opponents and will make an immediate impact on our program. Calvin will be a physical education major at AASU."

Tametria "T.T." Hall
6-3, 180, Junior, Guad
St. Petersburg College / West Palm Beach, Fla.

Teammate of Calvin Wilson for the Titans, helping lead St. Petersburg College to consecutive Florida state tournament berths during his career, including a 21-11 record and a second-place Sun Coast Conference finish this season.

T.T. averaged 16 points a game (14th among Florida JC players), four rebounds and shot 48.5 percent from three-point range (3rd best among Florida JC players). T.T. was selcted a first-team All-Sun Coast Conference honoree and first-team All-State among Florida JC players.

Coach Burkhamer: "T.T. is another outstanding athlete. He ranked third in Florida in three-point field goal percentage last year, proving that he is an outstanding long-range threat. T.T. can also put the ball on the floor and score going to the rim. T.T. plays very hard and will be counted on to score and defend. He will be a physical educatio major at AASU."

Andrew Webber
5-10, 175, Junior, Guard
University of Adelaide / Belair, South Australia.

Coach Burkhamer: "Andrew is a true point guard and a coach on the floor. He understands the game and will be a great complement to William Kane. Andrew is a terrific open-court player and will make his teammates better through his ability to penetrate and pass the basketball. Andrew is also an outstanding shooter with three-point range and will be able to stretch the defense. Andrew already has a degree in finance and is an excellent student. He will be working on completing an economics degree at AASU"

           
           
Brian Moultrie
6-6, 210, Junior, Forward
Clinton Junior College / Beaufort, S.C.

Led the Bears to a 19-9 record and a second-place conference finish. Brian averaged 17.5 points (fourth in the conference) and nine rebounds (third in the conference) a game and was named second-team All-Carolina Junior College Conference.

Played high school basketball at Battery Creek, where he earned All-State honors in 2005.

Coach Burkhamer: "Brian is an aggressive post player that can also play faced up to the basket. Brian is very athletic and active. I really like how he attacks the boards and defends the paint. Brian's length will change shots and he will be a shot blocker for us on the back line. Brian will also be counted on to provide some scoring fo rus. He will be a physical education major at AASU."

Corey Johnson
6-1, 190, Senior, Guard
University of Arkansas-Little Rock / Fayetteville, N.C.

Played in 27 games for the Trojans in 2006-07, scoring 51 points, including hitting 12-of-44 three-pointers.

Played for two seasons at Aiken Tech. Earned second-team All-Region 10 honors as a freshman and a sophomore. Averaged 15.4 points and 3.4 assists per game as a sophomore and averaged 14.7 points and 5.6 assists as a freshman.

Coach Burkhamer: "Corey is the scoring guard that we've been looking for throughout the recruiting season. He will replace Tory Harris and will be relied upon to create and make shots. Corey is a very good shooter with three-point range, but can also get to the basket or pull up for the mid-range jumper. Corey will also be asked to play some backup point guard when needed. Corey's maturity, experience and leadership abilities will also be factors in keeping the Pirates in the hunt for a PBC title."

Bobby Ancrum
6-5, 250, Junior, Forward
Truett-McConnell Junior College / Savannah, Ga.

Last played for Truett-McConnell Junior College during the 2004-05 season, where he helped lead the Bears to a 21-4 record. Averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Former basketball and football standout at A.E. Beach High School in Savannah.

Coach Burkhamer: "Bobby gives us size and strength in the post. He is an outstanding rebounder and can score with his back to the basket or faced up. He will be a tough matchup for our opponents. Bobby will be a physical education major at AASU."
