Hello, Jay Carmichael here to give you a little insight to the man behind the scenes at Armstrong Atlantic State University. I am a 21 year old senior at Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah, Ga. where I am majoring in Economics with a possible minor in Communications. I enjoy fishing, throwing darts, shooting pool, playing sports, traveling and hanging out with friends and family. I am the current President of the Pi Kappa Alpha Eta Mu Colony at Armstrong Atlantic State University. We are set to receive our Charter the weekend of Nov. 16-18, it is during this weekend that we will become recognized as a fully functional Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity.

I am currently employed with the Athletics Department as a Sports Information Student Assistant. I have been a student assistant for three years now and have learned very valuable things since working under the Director of Sports Information, Mr. Chad Jackson As a Sports Information Student Assistant my duties include, recording the statistics for several of the athletic teams, taking photographs, writing game releases, producing a media pamphlet for several of the teams and various other tasks assigned. I am also employed part-time as a member of Mr. Charlie Parrish's facility staff. As a member of the facility staff I am responsible for locking up a few of the facilities on campus and managing the facilities during non-peak hours.

I recently got back from a three week study abroad in China, in which I studied comparative economics between the United States and China with special interest in the educational policy differences. After graduation from Glynn Academy High School in 2004, I traveled to Italy and France with my history teacher. I was on the beaches of Normandy for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day, I traveled to Rome, Italy and I also spent a few days in Paris, France. Experiencing another culture other than your own is a definite life changing event.
