Wolfe Falls One Shot Shy Of Berth To NCAA Nationals

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 7) - Junior Chris Wolfe shot an even-par 72 on Wednesday, but it was not enough to earn the PBC's Player of the Year an individual berth to the 2008 NCAA DII Men's Golf National Championships after the final day of the Atlantic/Southeast Regional.

Wolfe's three-day total of two-under-par 214 placed him third individually, three shots behind individual champion Niclas Johannson of team champion GCSU. Carson-Newman's Brad Robinson finished second after a two-under-par 70 on Wednesday and finished at 213, to earn the super regional's individual berth.

As a team, the Pirates finished eighth after a team 299 score, the third-best round of the day in the Southeast Regional. Freshman Parker Gordon carded a 76 on Wednesday and finished tied for 30th with a 232 total. Sophomore Jon Wingate shot a 73 and finished tied for 32nd with a 233 total, while junior Justin Smith shot a 78 and finished tied for 38th. Von Shenefelt rounded out AASU's scoring with an 85, finishing 45th with a 254 total.
