Spencer Wheeler Team Physician Medical College of Georgia, 1985 Dr. Spencer Wheeler is the medical director and team physician for Armstrong Atlantic's athletic teams. Dr. Wheeler completed his medical school training at the Medical College of Georgia in 1985, and his orthopedic training at the University of Florida. Wheeler served two sports medicine fellowships, one at Johns Hopkins Insitiute and one in Sydney, Austrailia. Dr. Wheeler was the Coordinator of Athletes Care in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center for the 1996 Olympic Games. Dr. Wheeler and his wife Terri have 3 children, Spencer, Ambry, and Stegmon. |

Head
Athletic Trainer Daniel Hinely, ATC Valdosta State, '03 Daniel Hinely enters his first season as head athletic trainer for the Pirates. A graduate of Valdosta State University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine, Hinely became familiar with the Peach Belt Conference by completing his master's degree in physical education from GC&SU in 2005. Hinely joins AASU from Belmont Abbey College, where he served as an assistant trainer for the 2005-06 season. While at Belmont Abbey, Hinely provided gameday coverage for women's soccer, men's basketball, men's tennis and lacrosse while helping provide daily training needs to more than 260 student-athletes for the Crusaders. Hinely is certified with the ATC and is a member of both the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association (GATA). |

Assistant
Athletic Trainer Jessica Miller, ATC Valdosta State, '05 Jessica Miller enters her first season as an Assistant in the AASU Athletic Training Department. Miller will also serve as part time physical education instructor. A member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, Miller received her associates degree in physical education from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Miller graduated from Brigham Young University with her bachelor's of science in exercise science in April 2005. She recently graduated from Indiana State University with a masters of science in athletic training in July 2006. Prior to Armstrong Atlantic, Miller served as graduate assistant at Indiana State University. She is CPR/AED professional rescuer certified, first aid certified, a licensed athletic trainer and fluent in Spanish. |
