Men's Tennis: West Florida 6, AASU 3
Women's Tennis: West Florida 5, AASU 4

TIFTON, Ga. – In a battle of Top 10 college tennis programs, the University of West Florida's men's and women's tennis teams defeated AASU on Friday afternoon, 6-3 in the men's match and 5-4 in the women's match.

AASU's men's team, ranked No. 4 in the nation, lost two of the three doubles matches, then managed only singles wins at No. 4 as Christopher Petersen defeated Jeppe Nielsen, 6-3, 6-3, and at No. 5 as Frederic Heitz defeated Chris Lewis, 6-4, 6-7 (7-5), 7-5.

The AASU women, ranked No. 3 in the nation, won two of the three doubles matches and got singles wins at No. 1 as Stephanie Kovacic defeated Tania Kovatchka, 6-1, 2-0, retired and at No. 2 singles as Michaela Kratochvilova defeated Andrea Petrisor, 6-1, 6-1.

The Pirates continue action at Augusta on Saturday as they face Augusta State at 9 a.m., then travel to Aiken on the same day to face USC Aiken at 3 p.m.
