Men's Tennis: AASU 4, Pacific 3

STOCKTON, Calif. – Armstrong Atlantic State defeated Division I foe University of the Pacific, 4-3, in college tennis action on Tuesday afternoon in Stockton, Calif.

The Pirates, ranked No. 4 in the latest ITA/NCAA Division II rankings released earlier this week, won two out of three doubles matches to pick up the doubles point, then won three singles matches for the victory. The match was the second this season for the Pirates against NCAA Division I competition and AASU is now 1-1 against DI schools. The win was the Pirates' 10th straight after starting the season 1-2.

AASU picked up singles wins at No. 2 from Christopher Petersen, No. 4 from Frederic Heitz and No. 6 from Dave Webley. Heitz remained undefeated in dual match play this season, running his singles record to 13-0.

AASU returns to action on Wednesday, March 15 as they travel to Santa Cruz, Calif., to take on defending NCAA Division III champion and current No. 1 ranked UC Santa Cruz.
