Men's Tennis: No. 4 AASU 7, No. 1 Lander 2

GREENWOOD, S.C. – No. 4-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State knocked off No. 1-ranked Lander University, 7-2, in men's college tennis action at the Lander Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates (14-3, 8-0 PBAC) swept all three doubles matches, then won four of the six singles to pick up the victory over Lander (9-4, 5-1 PBAC). The win clinched the No. 1 seed for the Pirates in the upcoming PBAC Tournament, to be held at AASU from April 13-16, and hands Lander its first PBAC non-forfeiture loss since joining the conference in 1993. Lander is the seven-time defending NCAA Division II national champion in men's tennis.

AASU returns home on Sunday, April 2 to face Valdosta State at 2:00 p.m. in its next tennis action.
