Men's Tennis: No. 4 AASU 5, No. 7 Barry 3
MONTGOMERY, Ala. The No. 4-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State men's tennis team defeated No. 7 Barry University, 5-3, in the consolation finals of the Blue-Gray in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates won two of three doubles matches, then got singles wins from Christopher Petersen at No. 3 singles, Frederic Heitz at No. 5 singles and Aref Jallali at No. 6 singles. The win was the Pirates' sixth against NCAA Division II Top 10 teams this season.
Both the AASU men's and women's teams prepare for the Peach Belt Athletic Conference Championships, which will begin on Thursday, April 13 in Savannah. Matches will be played at both AASU and Savannah Country Day School.
