JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Armstrong Atlantic State had five players score in double figures as the visiting Pirates snapped a seven-game losing streak in defeating the University of North Florida, 93-69, at UNF Arena.

UNF (12-11, 9-7) held its last lead at 7-6 before a bucket from Willard Winn put AASU (11-12, 7-9) on top to stay with 14:42 to play in the first half. The Ospreys did keep the game close through the game's first 15 minutes, trailing 27-24 with 4:33 in the first when the Pirates went on a 15 2 run to close out the half and take a 42-26 lead into the intermission.

UNF cut the lead to 10 points at 47-37 with 16 minutes to play, but AASU quickly built its lead back up to 19 points and led 70-46 with 7:43 left. For the Ospreys, it was just their second loss in their last eight games over all and only their second loss in the last 10 home games.

Koran Godwin led UNF with 16 points and 7 rebounds while Jo Jo Cadray, who had missed the last two games with an ankle sprain, came off the bench to score 14. Joe Gaetano dished out a game-high 7 assists.

AASU was led by 19 points from Donta Humphries, Jason Sanders scored 16, Justin Wood had a career-high 15, Bart Westgeest added 13 points and Lamar Cheers had 10 points.

Meanwhile, Mikel Taylor led a balanced attack with 14 points in helping the University of North Florida women's basketball team to a 67-59 Peach Belt Conference win over Armstrong Atlantic State at the UNF Arena.

The Lady Ospreys (16-7, 11-5 PBC) took a 40-29 lead into halftime and scored the first two points of the second half for their biggest lead of the game at 15 points. AASU (8-15, 6-10 PBC) then quickly closed to within six points with nine unanswered points before UNF built its lead back up to double digits, 60-50 with 7:35 left to play, never letting the Lady Pirates closer than six points the rest of the way.

Taylor tied AASU's Zandrique Cason for game-high scoring honors. Skye Barber was held to single digits in points for just the second time this season with nine. Guards Stephanie Autry and Leigh Gaudy each added 11 points, Allia McLeod came of the bench to score 8 and Natalie Hicks finished with 7 points.
