AASU Women's Basketball Signs Two For 2002-2003

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Armstrong Atlantic State head women's basketball coach Roger Hodge announced today the signings of Alicia Durham and Tasha Washington to play basketball for the Pirates in 2002-2003.

Durham, a 5-6 guard from Southwest Macon HS, was an All-City and All-Middle Georgia selection for the district champions as a senior. She averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and five steals and earned first-team All-Region honors for the Patriots in 2001-2002.

Tasha Washington, a 5-8 guard from Munday, Texas, joins Durham as an early signee for the Pirates as she transfers to Armstrong Atlantic State after playing two seasons at Scottsdale CC in Scottsdale, Ariz. Washington, who earned first-team All-Region and All-ACCAC honors as a sophomore, averaged 15.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.8 steals and 4.7 assists for the Artichokes.

Durham and Washington represent the first two signees for coach Hodge in his 2002-2003 signing class. The Lady Pirates return eight players - including two-time All-PBC center Zandrique Cason - from last season's squad that went 11-18 on the year, but became the first No. 6 seed to advance to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals.
