AASU's Robert Campbell Earns Pre-Season All-America Honors
Peach Belt Player of the Year Receives Mention In Three Preseason Publications

SAVANNAH, Ga. – AASU's Robert Campbell has been recognized by four publications as a pre-season Division II men's basketball All-America player as the senior guard begins his final season as a Pirate.

The Hinesville, Ga., native is projected to be a first-team Division II All-America by Preview Sports College Basketball Magazine, a Division II Bulletin Super 15 All-America pick, a preseason All-America pick by the Basketball Times and a preseason honorable mention All-America pick by Street & Smith's College Basketball.

Campbell, who last season became the first AASU men's basketball player to earn All-America since 1983-84, led the Pirates in scoring (15.0 ppg), assists (5.8 apg) and steals (3.2 per game) and was named the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Year for 1999-2000.

The Pirates begin the 2000-2001 season at the Disney's Division II TipOff Classic in Orlando, Fla., on Fri, Nov. 10-Sun., Nov. 12. AASU faces Bentley in first-round action on Fri., Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.
