Bringewatt Named Edward Jones/AASU November Athlete of the Month

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Sophomore volleyball player Kris Bringewatt has been named the Edward Jones Investments/AASU Blue Chip Athlete of the Month for the month of November by the Armstrong Atlantic State athletic department.

A 5-11 middle hitter from Hershey, Neb., Kris helped the Pirates to an NCAA-record turnaround this season as AASU finished with a 36-5 overall record and finished second in the Peach Belt Athletic Conference. The Barton County CC transfer hit .337 on the season with 327 kills and 107 blocks. She earned tournament MVP honors at the Fayetteville State Invitational and was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's Player of the Year for the 1999 season.

Edward Jones Investments and the AASU Athletic Department have created the Blue Chip Athlete of the Month award to spotlight successful Pirate student-athletes monthly, during the academic year. AASU cross country runner Nikki Garland was September's honoree and volleyball player Lindsay Ehlers was October's recipient.
