AASU Athletic Department Takes Nominations For 2001 Hall Of Fame Induction

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Armstrong Atlantic State University's Athletic Department is currently taking nominations for inclusion into the AASU Athletic Hall of Fame. Candidates will be reviewed and chosen by a Selection Committee and inducted in the annual AASU Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2000 at Noon at Alumni Arena as a part of AASU Homecoming.

Nominations can be submitted in person at the AASU Athletic Department office or via mail at 11935 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA 31419-1997. Forms are available at the Armstrong Atlantic State Athletic Department main office or on the internet via the official AASU Athletics Web Page at http://www.athletics.armstrong.edu. Please direct all correspondence to Dr. Eddie Aenchbacher, Athletic Director.

Last year, Chad Armstrong (Baseball), Tommy and Bobby Cannon (Baseball/Basketball), Jennifer Roberson (Softball) and Philipp Schertel (Tennis) were inducted and were joined by Service Citation Award recipient Dr. Irving Victor, bringing the total membership of the AASU Athletic Hall of Fame to 36 members. The first induction was held on May 27, 1995, and six classes have been inducted so far.

Nominations will be taken until Friday, January 5, at the close of the business day.
