Ospreys Knock Off Pirates, 71-64

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida used a 7-0 run midway through the second half to pull away and defeat Armstrong Atlantic State, 71-64, in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game at UNF Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Ospreys (11-11, 8-5 PBC) and the Pirates (8-13, 7-7 PBC) went into halftime knotted up at 33-all, and both teams played even until 13:16 left in the second half, when UNF scored seven straight
points in two minutes to snap a 44-all tie and take a 51-44 lead. AASU cut the lead to two on a pair of Brian Bain free throws with 6:29 left, but three point from Gary Satterwhite and a three-pointer
by Chris Ireland put the Ospreys back up by eight, 62-54, and the Pirates could not climb back into the game.

AASU was led by junior Dave Pisarcik, who scored a career-high 23 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and 13-of-18 shooting from the free throw line, and junior Daryl Williams, who scored 20 points. UNF was led by Justin Bridges, who had a perfect night from the floor, going 9-for-9 en route to 20 points.

The Pirates will be next in action on Saturday, February 15, as they travel to Clayton College & State University for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Lakers.
