Men's College Basketball: North Florida 68, AASU 56

SAVANNAH, Ga. - North Florida sent the Armstrong Atlantic State men's basketball squad to its fifth straight defeat with a 68-56 win over the Pirates at UNF Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Ospreys shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the floor in the contest and placed four players in double figures - led by Donny Lotz' 19 points - in winning their third straight contest.

The game opened up as a nip-and-tuck affair with the Pirates leading, 14-13, with 8:45 left in the first half, but then the Ospreys went on a 17-7 run over the next seven minutes to take a 37-21 lead into intermission. UNF's Derrick Scott collected 12 points in the first half en route to his 17 points in the game.

The Pirates were led by Jamaal Galloway's 15 points off the bench as the freshman hit 5 of 8 three-pointers. Alex Carter chipped in 10 points for AASU.

The Pirates will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Columbus State University at 6:00 p.m.
