AASU's Favors Named PBAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Junior forward Greg Favors was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Favors recorded two double-doubles on the week, scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds against Fort Valley State, then collecting 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Pirates' 76-70 overtime win at Kennesaw State. A 6-5 junior from Pearson, Ga., Favors has four double-doubles in seven games this season and is averaging 9.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game on the season.

The honor is the first in two years for an AASU men's basketball player, since Mario Anderson captured the award during the 1997-98 season.

The Pirates host Belmont Abbey in their next action on Friday, Dec. 17 at 8:00 p.m.
