AASU's Campbell Named PBAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Junior guard Robert Campbell was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Campbell averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 assists on the week as the Pirates picked up victories at North Florida and against Columbus State. Campbell scored 22 points in the Pirates' 83-75 win at North Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 2, then scored 23 points and dished out a career-high 13 assists against Columbus State on Saturday, Feb. 5, in AASU's 87-82 win over the Cougars. Campbell shot 64 percent (16-of-25) from the field and 92.8 percent (13-of-14) from the free throw line on the week and has made 31 of his last 33 free throw attempts.

Campbell is averaging 15.0 points a game, eighth in the PBAC, and leads the conference in assists (5.9 per game) and steals (3.10 per game).

Campbell joins fellow junior Greg Favors as Player of the Week recipients for the Pirates this season. Favors was honored on Dec. 13, 1999.

The Pirates travel to USC Aiken to take on the Pacers in their next action, on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
