AASU's Sells Named PBAC Softball Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Sophomore pitcher/designated player Annie Sells was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's softball Player of the Week for March 8 by conference officials.

Sells batted .469 in 11 games for the Pirates with four home runs, three doubles and 17 RBI for the No. 11 Lady Pirates. She hit a grand slam in AASU's 8-0 win over Lake Superior State on 3/1 and also went 3-0 on the mound with an 0.67 ERA. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native slugged .938 in the 11 games.

Sells, the reigning PBAC Freshman of the Year, has helped the Pirates to a perfect 13-0 start this season. She earned All-PBAC and All-Region honors as a freshman pitcher and is 27-4 over her AASU career.

The No. 11-ranked Lady Pirates face Edinboro, Pa., on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in their next action.
