AASU's Weirauch Named PBAC Softball Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Junior first baseman Nicole Weirauch was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's softball Player of the Week for April 18 by conference officials.

Weirauch batted .381 on the week with three doubles and five RBI in helping the No. 3-ranked Pirates to a 6-0 record, including a doubleheader sweep of No. 2-ranked North Florida on Saturday. The Watkinsville, Ga., native went 3-for-5 with two doubles in the Pirates' 10-0 win over Valdosta State and also collected three hits in the Pirates' 4-2 win over UNF.

Weirauch becomes the third different AASU player to earn Player of the Week honors for the Pirates this season. Annie Sells was named the PBAC's Player of the Week on March 8 and Crystal McCracken was the Player of the Week last week.

The Pirates host the 2000 AASU Softball Peach Belt Blast this weekend. Games begin at Noon at Paulsen Field on Friday, April 21 and continue with games on Saturday, April 22 at Pirate Field.
