AASU's Bullard Named PBAC Baseball Player of the Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. Senior catcher Kevin Bullard, making the most of his final games at Armstrong Atlantic State, was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's baseball Player of the Week for May 2 by conference officials.
Bullard batted .462 on the week with four doubles, a home run and six RBI as the No. 25-ranked Pirates won three of four games to finish the 2000 season at 37-17. Bullard cranked two doubles and a home run in AASU's 8-1 win over UNC Pembroke on Saturday, April 29, and slugged an even 1.000 for the week.
The Cedartown, Ga., native earns the award for the second time in his career he was also the PBAC's Player of the Week for Feb. 16, 1999. With his four doubles on the week, Bullard moved into second place on the Pirates' all-time doubles chart with 51 for his career. In all, Bullard ranks in the top 10 in seven different career hitting charts for AASU, including fourth in hits and at-bats, fifth in runs scored and RBIs and eighth in home runs and walks.
