AASU's Bullard Named PBAC Baseball Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Senior catcher Kevin Bullard, making the most of his final games at Armstrong Atlantic State, was named the Peach Belt Athletic Conference's baseball Player of the Week for May 2 by conference officials.

Bullard batted .462 on the week with four doubles, a home run and six RBI as the No. 25-ranked Pirates won three of four games to finish the 2000 season at 37-17. Bullard cranked two doubles and a home run in AASU's 8-1 win over UNC Pembroke on Saturday, April 29, and slugged an even 1.000 for the week.

The Cedartown, Ga., native earns the award for the second time in his career – he was also the PBAC's Player of the Week for Feb. 16, 1999. With his four doubles on the week, Bullard moved into second place on the Pirates' all-time doubles chart with 51 for his career. In all, Bullard ranks in the top 10 in seven different career hitting charts for AASU, including fourth in hits and at-bats, fifth in runs scored and RBIs and eighth in home runs and walks.
