Chris Wolfe Named PBC's First-Ever Men's Golf Player of the Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. (February 14) Fresh off of his third individual title of the year, junior Chris Wolfe was named the first-ever Peach Belt Conference's men's golf Player of the Week by league officials on Thursday afternoon.
Wolfe shot rounds of 71 and 68 for a three-under-par 139 total at the 2008 Outback Steakhouse Collegiate in Panama City. Wolfe sank a three-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to capture the tournament by one stroke at the par-71, 6,450-yard Hombre Golf Club course.
The win was the third for Wolfe this season and the sixth of his career as a Pirate, tied for third most in Peach Belt Conference history. Currently Wolfe leads the Pirates and the PBC with a 70.0 stroke average and is ranked No. 12 in the Golfstat Cup rankings, the highest ranked DII player.
This is the first year that the Peach Belt has started to award a weekly Player of the Week for men's golf. Wolfe and the Pirate return to action on Monday, February 25, at the AASU/Southbridge Pirate Invitational.
