AASU's David Harriman Named PBC Baseball Player of the Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. Junior catcher David Harriman was named the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Week by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Harriman led AASU to a 5-0 record on the week, including a three-game sweep of then-No. 14-ranked Columbus State, by hitting .533 (8-for-15) with four runs scored and four RBI. The Surrey, British Columbia, native also drew three walks for a .611 on-base percentage and hit .500 (5-for-10) in the weekend series with Columbus State.
For the season, Harriman is hitting .338 and leads the Pirates with four home runs and 37 RBI.
Harriman is the second AASU player to earn Player of the Week honors this season. Freshman Ryan Chromek was named PBC Player of the Week back on February 13, 2001, while senior B.J. Brinkmeier was the conference's Pitcher of the Week on March 13.
The No. 29-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State baseball squad is in action today at No. 7-ranked Valdosta State at 5:00 p.m. in a non-conference contest.
