AASU's David Harriman Again Named PBC Baseball Player of the Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. Junior catcher David Harriman was named the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Week for the second week in a row by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Harriman improved on last week's numbers by hitting .412 with a .941 slugging percentage in four games for the Pirates. Harriman clubbed three home runs one in each game of AASU's three-game sweep of USC Spartanburg and drove in 11 runs on the week as the Pirates went 3-1. The Pirates recorded consecutive weekend PBC sweeps for the first time since 1994.
For the season, Harriman is hitting .346 and leads the Pirates with seven home runs and 48 RBI.
Harriman is the first two-time PBC Player of the Week honoree for the Pirates since Kevin Bullard earned conference honors in 1999 and 2000. He is the first Pirate to earn the honor twice in the same season since John Booker was the PBC Player of the Week on March 15 and 23, 1993.
The No. 24-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State baseball squad wraps up its home schedule on Thursday, April 19 against No. 9-ranked Valdosta State at 3:30 p.m. at Pirate Field.
