College Softball: No. 15 Armstrong Atlantic State 5-3, Hawaii Hilo 3-1

HILO, Hawaii – The University of Hawaii at Hilo gave up three homeruns in its doubleheader loss to Armstrong Atlantic State University, 5-3 and 3-1, in women's softball at the UHH field.

The Vulcans (12-8) took a 2-0 lead in the first game on RBI singles by Abby Padasdao and Rachel Loo.

The Pirates (11-3) got on the board on Annie Sells' RBI single. Then took a 4-2 lead on Crystal McCracken's three-run homerun over the center field fence. They added a run in the sixth on Sara Noe's single.

Loo picked up her second RBI of the game in the sixth for to the final 5-3 score.

Julie King (6-1) pitched a nine-hit complete game giving up a walk. Noe and Breon Michel had two hits apiece.

Kristine Kahoalii (6-4) gave up nine hits and a walk in the loss but struck out three. Michele Larose and Loo paired hits for the Vulcans.

Annie Sells (5-2) held the Vulcans to four hits in the second game. Using a change up she struck out 10 batters and walked only three.

Breon Michel scored on a wild pitch in the second inning to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. Third inning homeruns by Selles and Nicole Weirauch made it 3-0.

Padasdao's single in the third scored the Vulcans only run.

Chenelle Chikazawa (2-2) gave up seven hits and two walks in a losing cause but struckout three. LaRose had two hits for the Vulcans including a double.

Noe and Sells paired hits for the Pirates.
