No. 6 Armstrong Atlantic State blanks Senators, 8-0 and 13-0

GREENWOOD, S.C.- Armstrong Atlantic State University's Annie Sells tossed a no-hitter Saturday - the 13th of her career - to lead the No. 6 Pirates to a Peach Belt Conference softball sweep at Lander. The Pirates won the first game, 8-0, in six innings, and 13-0 in the second game in five innings.

In the first game, Sells (17-2 with a 0.42 ERA) struck out 10 and walked two. Sells also went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Stacy Oliver went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Stacey Richardson went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lacey Stoltz (3-2) took the loss, striking out one, walking two, and allowing four earned runs on four hits in two innings pitched.

In the second game, Richardson (1-for-2) blasted a second-inning, grand slam home run over the left field fence to pace the Pirates.

Delaney Warrian (7-0) earned the win, striking out one, walking six and allowing just two hits in five innings. Breon Michel went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and Oliver went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lander's Sarah Permenter (15-12) took the loss, striking out two, walking five and allowing four earned runs on three hits.
