Men's Tennis: No. 10 AASU 8, Flagler 1

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's tennis squad opened the season successfully with a road win over NAIA foe Flagler College, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 10-ranked Pirates won two of three doubles matches, then swept all six singles matches from the Saints. Sophomore Achim Roth picked up a 6-2, 6-1 singles win over Armando Notz at No. 1 singles, then Roth and White - ITA All-Americas in doubles last season for the Pirates - teamed to defeat Notz and Aaron Nabra, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.

The Pirates, who are opening the season with four straight road matches, will next be in action on Saturday, February 8 at USC Spartanburg at 1:00 p.m.
