Women's Tennis: Armstrong Atlantic State 8, USC Aiken 1
SAVANNAH, GA. The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams swept USC Aiken in Peach Belt Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex.
The AASU men, ranked No. 7 in the nation, swept the Pacers, dropping just one set in singles and winning all three doubles matches. Stefan Wirtz won at No. 1 singles for the Pirates when Bosko Petricevic retired, down 7-6 (7-3), 4-2.
The AASU women swept all three doubles matches and won five of six singles. Zsofi Golopencza cruised at No. 1 singles over the Lady Pacers' Roxanne Mazsa, 6-1, 6-0.
AASU returns to action on Monday, Feb. 19 as both the men's and women's teams host Augusta State at 1:00 p.m.
