Men's Tennis: Armstrong Atlantic State 8, Augusta State 1
Women's Tennis: Armstrong Atlantic State 6, Augusta State 2

SAVANNAH, GA. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams swept Augusta State in Peach Belt Conference action on Monday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The AASU men, ranked No. 7 in the nation, won all three doubles matches and captured five of the six singles matches, led by Stefan Wirtz, who defeated Marcus Demirian, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 1 singles.

The AASU women, limited to just five players because of injury, won five singles matches and No. 1 doubles. Freshman Alejandra Aguilar, playing at No. 3 singles for the Pirates, came back from 5-0 down in the third set and fought off three match points to defeat Patricia Zurita, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5.

AASU returns to action on Friday, Feb. 23 as both the men's and women's teams travel to Valdosta State for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Blazers.
