SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads picked up a dual match Peach Belt Conference sweep of Columbus State in a battle of ranked teams in Columbus, Ga., on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates won two of three doubles matches and picked up wins in all six singles matches to improve to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the PBC. Robert Jendelund and Dale White defeated Razvan Druica nd Fernando Gallegos, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles, then Jendelund knocked off Druica at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2. White defeated Gallegos at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-4, while Peter Dedik, Davor Zink, David Secker and Jeremy Mastnak all collected singles wins as well.

The Lady Pirates picked up two out of three doubles wins, led by Dziyana Nazaruk and Johanna Dahlback's 8-4 win over Suzanne Visagie and Marianne Berry at No. 2 doubles. AASU then picked up five singles wins to clinch the victory. Nazaruk knocked off Zuzanna Valekova, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, while Manuela Emmrich blanked Raluca Moldovan, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles. Dahlback, Caroline Grage and Laura Peaty also collected singles wins for the Pirates.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates next travel to Francis Marion for a PBC dual match with the Patriots on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The AASU women will also take on UNC Pembroke on Tuesday..
