FLORENCE, S.C. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads swept a Peach Belt Conference dual match from Francis Marion on Tuesday afternoon in Florence, S.C.

The No. 2-ranked Lady Pirates improved to 5-0 on the season with the win - their second on the day. All of the Lady Pirates won in straight sets, except at No. 1 singles, where Zsofi Golopencza won her match when Ana Carias retired in the first set after trailing, 5-0. AASU also swept all three doubles matches.

The No. 10-ranked Pirates won over the No. 22-ranked Patriots for the second straight time. AASU won two of three doubles matches, led by Tim Offermann and Roger Thiele's 8-4 win over Mark Bube and Kevin Taylor at No. 1 doubles. In singles, Achim Roth went three sets to defeat Lewellyn King at No. 2 singles, winning 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. Neil Murray also went three sets at No. 5 singles to defeat Danny Cordrey, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

The Pirates and Lady Pirates next take on West Florida on Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the AASU Tennis Complex.
