Men’s Tennis: No. 2 West Florida 6, No. 17 AASU 3
Women's Tennis: No. 5 AASU 7, No. 6 West Florida 2

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads split a non-conference dual mach with West Florida in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday.

The No. 5-ranked Lady Pirates improved to 8-0 overall with the 7-2 win over No. 6 West Florida. The Lady Pirates won two of three doubles matches, then picked up singles wins in the first five spots of the order, led by Zsofi Golopencza’s 6-0, 6-1 win over Nicole Plikat at No. 1 singles. Luisa Cowper defeated Sabine Krawietz, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, and Caroline Grage, Dziyana Nazaruk and Manuela Emmrich also picked up singles wins.

The AASU men picked up just one doubles win – Achim Roth and Dale White at No. 1 doubles over Mario Vergara and Paulius Jurkenas, 8-2 – and two singles wins, as Roth defeated Radovan Chrz, at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-2, and Jonas Askeland knocked off German Delmagro at No. 5 singles, 5-7, 6-4, (10-6).

The Pirates next travel to Milledgeville to face GC&SU in a Peach Belt Conference dual match against the Bobcats at 2:00 p.m.
