AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams opened the 2004 dual match season with Peach Belt Conference victories over Augusta State on Saturday afternoon in Augusta, Ga.

The Pirate men dropped just one doubles match in knocking off the Jaguars, 8-1. Junior Achim Roth defeated Zia Hai, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles to lead the Pirates.

The Lady Pirates blanked Augusta State, 9-0, as the Lady Jaguars fielded just four players for the match. Luisa Cowper knocked off Patricia Zurita, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles to lead AASU.

The Lady Pirates will be next in action on Friday, February 13, as they visit Division I Davidson for a 3:00 p.m. match in Davidson, N.C.
