Women's Tennis: No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State 9, No. 29 Ferris State 0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 3-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis squad blanked No. 29-ranked Ferris State on Sunday afternoon, 9-0, in college tennis action at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The Lady Pirates improved to 13-1 on the season with the victory, while Ferris State fell to 13-4 on the year.

AASU captured all three doubles matches, then picked up all six singles matches in straight sets. Top-ranked DII singles player Zsofi Golopencza defeated Jenn Garvey, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, while freshman Annamaria Forgacs defeated Barbora Jilkova, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.

The Lady Pirates will take 10 days off before returning to action on Wednesday, March 20 as they face the No. 1-ranked team in NAIA, Auburn-Montgomery, at 3:00 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla.
