Men's Tennis: No. 19 Armstrong Atlantic State 5, No. 12 Lynn 4
No. 19 Armstrong Atlantic State 9, Tuskeegee 0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's tennis squad picked up a pair of wins on Friday afternoon, blanking Tuskeegee, 9-0, then upsetting No. 12 Lynn University, 5-4, at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The Pirates dropped just four games in defeating Tuskeegee, 9-0, to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Against the Knights, the Pirates won two of three doubles matches, but Lynn rallied to take three of five singles matches, setting the stage for the decisive match at No. 1 singles. Roger Thiele battled Martin Carento into the third set and came away with the victory, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5, giving the Pirates the upset victory.

The AASU men return to action on Sunday, March 3 as they host No. 3-ranked Valdosta State University at the AASU Tennis Complex.
