Men's Tennis: No. 12 AASU 8, No. 29 Ferris State 1

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 12-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State tennis team defeated No. 29-ranked Ferris State, 8-1, in men’s college tennis action at the AASU Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pirates swept all three doubles matches, including getting a big win at No. 1 doubles from sophomores Achim Roth and Dale White, ranked No. 4 in DII. The duo defeated the Ferris State duo of Jan Talian and Jason Cole, ranked No. 2 in the nation, 9-8 (7-5).

In singles, the Pirates picked up five of six singles victories, led by David Secker’s 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 win over Francisco Valencia at No. 2 singles. Achim Roth, Dale White, Jonas Askeland and Tim Offermann also picked up singles wins.

The Pirates are next in action on Thursday, March 13, as they host Georgia College & State University at 2:00 p.m. at the AASU Tennis Complex.
