HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads began their Hawaii swing by sweeping a dual match from Hawaii Pacific on Sunday in Honolulu.

The Pirate men ran its win streak to five with an 8-1 win over Hawaii Pacific. AASU swept all three doubles matches, then picked up five of six singles matches to clinch the victory. Davor Zink and Paul Bishop won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles when their opponents retired in the first set, then Robert Jendelund and David Secker picked up straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 5. Taavo Roos had to go to three sets, winning 1-6, 6-1, 6-1, over Jan Hroch at No. 4 singles.

The defending DII national champion Lady Pirates ran their match streak to 42 with the 9-0 blanking of Hawaii Pacific. AASU swept all three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight sets.

AASU continues its action in Hawaii as the Pirates visit Hawaii Hilo for a dual match at 11:00 a.m.
