FT. MYERS, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State tennis squads split a dual match at Florida Gulf Coast on Friday in Ft. Myers, Fla.

The No. 10-ranked Pirates dropped their third match in a row with the narrow 5-4 loss to the Eagles, dropping two of three doubles matches then only picking up three singles wins. Peter Dedik, Davor Zink and Jeremy Mastnak all won in singles play for AASU.

The No. 2-ranked Lady Pirates blitzed the Lady Eagles, not dropping a set in blanking FGCU, 9-0. Luisa Cowper paced the Lady Pirates with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Maria Testa Maggiorini at No. 1 singles, while Dziyana Nazaruk, Johanna Dahlback, Manuela Emmrich, Caroline Grage and Kristen Kelly all picked up singles wins.

AASU returns to action on Sunday as they visit Lynn University for a dual match at 10:00 a.m.
