SAVANNAH, Ga. – The top-ranked NAIA men's and women's tennis teams from Auburn-Montgomery swept a dual match against the host Armstrong Atlantic State Pirates on Wednesday afternoon as the women edged the Lady Pirates, 5-4, while the men cruised to a 9-0 victory.

In a match featuring the two top-ranked teams from NAIA and NCAA Division II, the Lady Pirates started off well, winning two of three doubles matches, but could manage just two singles wins against AUM. Top-ranked Zsofi Golopencza defeated Diana Gherghi, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 1 singles for the Lady Pirates, but AUM won the next four singles flight matches.

The No. 19-ranked AASU men lost all three doubles matches against the top-ranked Auburn-Montgomery men, and only Caue Figueiredo could take a set in singles as he pushed Strg Stroem to three sets, falling 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.

The AASU men's and women's tennis squads return to action on Thursday, March 21 as they travel to Milledgeville, Ga., for a PBC matchup with Georgia College & State at 2:00 p.m.
