Men's Tennis: No. 4 Rollins 7, No. 19 AASU 2

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 4-ranked and defending DII men's tennis champion Rollins College Tars defeated the No. 19-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State Pirates, 7-2, in collegiate tennis action on Sunday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The Tars - who lost to the Pirates last season, 5-4 - avenged that loss by picking up wins in two out of three doubles matches, then capturing five of six singles matches for the victory. AASU's only winners were Achim Roth and Dale White in doubles, defeating Mark Thompson and Matt Umbers, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles and sophomore Caue Figueiredo, who defeated Brandon Smith 0-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.

The AASU men's and women's tennis squads will be next in action on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. as they host the University of North Florida in a key Peach Belt Conference dual match at the AASU Tennis Complex.
