Men's Tennis: No. 17 AASU 8, GC&SU 1

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams swept a Peach Belt Conference dual match from GC&SU in Milledgeville on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Pirates swept all three doubles matches and won all six singles matches. Zsofi Golopencza defeated Luiza Biktyakova, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, while Luisa Cowper knocked off Anna Shchupak, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. Caroline Grage, Dziyana Nazaruk, Manuela Emmrich and Kristen Kelly all picked up singles wins as well as AASU improved to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the PBC.

The Pirate men won two of three doubles matches, then swept all six singles matches. Achim Roth defeated James Gorin, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Peter Dedik defeated Rodrigo Yamauti, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. Dale White, David Secker, Jonas Askeland and Taavo Roos all won singles matches as well, as the Pirates improved to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the PBC.

The AASU men and women will next take on USC Spartanburg at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7.
