SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis team blanked USC Spartanburg, 9-0, while the men's tennis team fell to the No. 11-ranked Rifles, 6-3, in Peach Belt Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The Lady Pirates swept all three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight sets. Zsofi Golopencza defeated Dasha Segenchuk, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, while Luisa Cowper knocked off Mariana Melo, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2 singles. Caroline Grage, Dziyana Nazaruk, Manuela Emmrich and Kristen Kelly all picked up singles wins as well as AASU improved to 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the PBC.

The Pirate men dropped all three doubles matches, but came back to win three of six singles matches. Achim Roth defeated Jose Luis Reyes, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, while Dale White defeated Ben Ureta at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-7, 7-1, and Jonas Askeland knocked off David Gustafsson at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-4. AASU fell to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the PBC.

The AASU men and women will next take on Ferris State at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10.
