SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams swept Lees-McRae in a non-conference doubleheader match on Thursday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex.

The AASU men, ranked No. 6 in the nation, swept all three doubles matches and won three of six singles matches, including at No. 2 singles, where Blaise Tribolet defeated Urban Ljubic, 7-6 (7-0), 6-2. Christopher Petersen won at No. 3 singles over Atilla Azucki, 6-3, 6-0, and Roger Thiele won at No. 6 singles over Mie Narutowitcz, 6-1, 6-2, to give the men the victory over No. 7 Lees McRae.

The AASU women, ranked No. 15 in the nation, won two of three doubles matches and took five of six singles matches to defeat the No. 16-ranked Lees McRae women.Freshman Zsofi Golopencza cruised at No. 1 singles over Ana Skafar, 6-2, 6-1, and junior Michaela Kratochvilova defeated Deniz Eure, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

The AASU men's and women's tennis teams now travel to Hawaii for a series of matches, beginning on Monday at Hawaii-Hilo.
