Men's Tennis: No. 19 AASU 6, Columbus State 3
Women's Tennis: No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State 9, Columbus State 0

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams picked up a Peach Belt Conference dual match sweep of Columbus State on Friday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex. The AASU men defeated CSU, 6-3, while the women swept the Lady Cougars, 9-0.

The No. 19-ranked AASU men's squad dropped two of three doubles matches, but rebounded to win five of singles matches to improve to 6-3 on the season. Sophomore Roger Thiele picked up a No. 1 singles win over Fernando Gallegos, 6-4, 6-0, to lead the Pirates.

The No. 3-ranked AASU women remained perfect in PBC play with the win over Columbus State, sweeping all three doubles matches and winning all six singles matches in straight sets. Top-ranked sophomore Zsofi Golopencza remained undefeated in singles against DII competition with a 6-2, 6-1 win over CSU's Suzanne Visagie, 6-2, 6-1.

Both AASU tennis squads return to action on Saturday, March 9 as the women face UNC Pembroke at 11:00 a.m. and the men take on Florida Southern at Noon.
