JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Armstrong Atlantic State men's and women's tennis teams each captured regular season Peach Belt Conference titles on Sunday afternoon by downing North Florida in a PBC dual match. The No. 9-ranked AASU men won, 6-3, and will share the 2005 PBC title with USC Upstate, while the No. 2-ranked AASU women won, 7-2, and captured the title outright.

The AASU men won two of three doubles matches against No. 5 UNF, then took wins at the bottom four singles spots to pick up its second win over a top 10-ranked team. The win gives the Pirates its second PBC regular season title in school history, joining the 2000 squad.

Meanwhile, the AASU women also won two of three doubles matches, then got five singles wins for the 7-2 victory over No. 9 UNF. The title is the 11th in the history of the PBC for the Lady Pirates and AASU completed its second straight perfect regular season with the win. AASU also won the women's title in 2000, making it the second time that the Pirates have captured both men's and women's regular season titles in school history.

Both teams will now compete at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Spartanburg, S.C., on April 14-16.
